Durham University Chamber Choir presents O Great Beyond, a concert exploring themes of love, death, and eternity.
The first half takes the listener on a journey through mortality and remembrance, reflecting on loss through sacred works by Cecilia McDowall, Vaughan Williams, Leighton, and Ethel Smyth. The beauty of farewells is captured in contemporary compositions by Richard Rodney Bennett and Healey Willan.
The second half transitions into themes of love, centred around Thomas LaVoy’s deeply moving O Great Beyond.
The choir is excited to perform in the incredible venue and acoustics of the Chapter House.
